Cutting Glass Strips
Here are some tips for cutting glass
strips for fusing. The emphasis is on cutting narrow
strips, 3/8" (9cm) or thereabouts.
This first section of tips deals with the glass you're
cutting: 1.
If you're inexperienced, start with transparents, then move to
opaques as your experience level and confidence grows.
Don't tackle really tough glasses (such as white) without some
previous strip cutting experience. 2.
Remember that to cut best each type and thickness of glass
requires a different amount of pressure. Practice will
help you realize which pressure level works best for the glass
you're cutting.
3. Clean the glass. It's easier to
cut clean glass than dirty glass.
